Week 9 Newsletter, Term 3 2022
Kia Ora,
Please see newsletter sent out:
Kia Ora Parents and Whanau and welcome to week 9.
Ako
This week we are very proud of our teams that are representing us. We have three EPRO8 teams representing Glenbrook School at the EPRO8 semi-finals. We have four teams representing Glenbrook School at Franklin Mathex. Next week we have four teams representing us at Franklin basketball. We love it when our students make the most of their opportunities.
This week our years 4-8 have been busy with end of term easttles in Reading and Mathematics. Some students are also involved in 1:1 maths and reading assessments. On Monday we celebrated and recognised all our amazing poets. Well done everyone for your wonderful poetry and creativity.
Calf Club
It is our annual Calf Club next Saturday. Our Calf Club Committee and PTA are extra busy with preparations. Remember if you can help in any way please contact Lizzie Yorke urgently: pta@glenbrook.school.nz We still needs lots of helpers. Calf Club posters will now be due on Tuesday 27th September. Scarecrows and herb gardens are due at 9am on Thursday 29th September. Any arrivals after the due time and date will not be judged. Each family is asked to donate a plate of home baking on Friday 30th September. These will be sold at our cake stall. We are also looking for donations for raffles, grocery items and items for our sweet stall.
Staffing
It is with the greatest love and sadness that we announce that Mrs Sue Waitai and Mrs Jessica Simons and her beautiful whanau will be leaving us at the end of the year. Mrs Waitai currently lives in Waihi and will be returning to reside there permanently. Mrs Simons and her whanau are returning to Hamilton. I’m sure you will join me in acknowledging the huge positive and wonderful impact these two special ladies have made to our school and community. They will be well missed.
Board of Trustees
Last night was our first meeting with our new members. We started extra early so our Board could visit every classroom and see all the wonderful things that have been happening in our classes. Next week you will have an opportunity to visit inside all our classrooms when they open on Calf Club day. I hope you will take the time to come and see just how amazing our beautiful tamariki and kaiako are.
