
Reading Recovery is an early literacy intervention that helps children who may need extra support to achieve in literacy. It is usually for 6 year olds who need to make more progress in literacy. Reading Recovery provides one-on-one teaching in lessons that are specifically adapted to suit a child’s strengths and difficulties. The daily lessons are 30 minutes and cover reading and writing tasks. Reading Recovery is a valuable opportunity for students who need it, and so it is important that students who begin lessons are at school each day.
