Week 6 Term 1 2015
Last week Years 3- 8 participated in our annual Swimming Sports. I was extremely impressed with the high number of students who participated in events and sup
ported their Whanau. Congratulations to Totara who won both the Spirit Award and the 2015 Swimming Sports. A huge thank you to Mrs Simnor for organising a wonderful day. Photos from the day can be found on our Glenbrook facebook page.
On Sunday Mrs Brown, Miss Shears and several students participated in the Annual Duck Derby. It was a great day full of fun and laughter. Thank you to Tim and Tina Morrison from Harrison Carpet One for sponsoring our teachers team. It’s great that we have these opportunities to represent in our community and to support our parents.
Today over 45 students represented Glenbrook School at Group Day Swimming Sports. Another fantastic effort by all students to maximise their potential.
This week all our students in Years 3 to 8 are completing a student survey. The purpose of the survey is find out what our students think about Glenbrook School and to get their ideas about what they think is important. We call this Student Voice. I have also asked some classes about what they think makes a great Glenbrook teacher. Responses have included helpful, respectful, cooperative, nice, kind, science, sporty and fun. What powerful and honest thinking being shown by your children. We will use this feedback as part of our planning throughout the year.
This Saturday is Phone Book delivery day. Each year Glenbrook School PTA, teachers and parents assist in the delivery of Yellow Pages in the Franklin District. This is a big fundraiser for our school and we need your help. Saturday 14th is the Delivery Day. We need all hands on deck from 8.30am until we finish. Cars and trailers needed. This week there are times when parents can help with packing. Please check the hall for times. We are meeting at the AMP Hall in Pukekohe. Please contact Kathy Clark or Stacey Baimbridge if you can help.
A reminder about our Child Centered Conferences or CCC’s. Please book a time to see your child’s teacher on this day online. Tuesday 31st March. Please remember that school finishes at 12pm on this day.
