Week 7 Term 1 2015
Kia Ora koutou katoa,
We had a fantastic day on Saturday with our Phone Book Fundrasier. Thank you to everyone who helped pack and deliever books. It was another example of how our community bands together to help out for the sake of our school and students. There are going to be some big whanau points allocated to Whanau houses.
This week some our students have been working on their WITs posters. The winning junior and senior entries will be shown at next week’s assembly.
Thank you to Mrs Simnor and Te Kauri for a fantastic assesmbly. It was wonderful seeing our students showing their artistic talents in music. It was brilliant to recognise so many students who mazimised their potential in swimming.
A reminder about our Child Centered Conferences or CCC’s. Please book a time to see your child’s teacher on this day online. Tuesday 31st March. Please remember that school finishes at 12pm on this day. Preferred booking times are filling fast.

Next week Mrs Matheson, Mrs Heathwaite, Mrs Thorton and I will spend one day with each syndicate. Tuesday we will teach Junior Syndicate. Wednesday we will teach Middle syndicate and Friday we will teach those seniors not at Technology. The purpose is give the teachers of each syndicate a day to look at the assessment data as a team and plan the learning and teaching programmes for term 2. This in-service day allows teachers to have high quality learning conversations and work collaboratively.
It is also an opportunity for the release teachers and I to have learning conversations with our students. We will be asking them what they expect of great teachers and what they think a fantastic Glenbrook student looks like. As you know, student voice gives our students opportunities to be empowered in their own learning. We will also be having some fun!!
Have a fantastic week everyone,
