Teenaa koutou e te whaanau, This week, I have been in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) meeting with Kaahui Ako Leads from across Aotearoa. While there is speculation and various documents circulating, we will await the official Budget announcement next week to gain clarity about the future of Kaahuinga Arataki. Kia ora e te Whaanau, This week, I had the privilege of attending the Advanced Leadership Forum, where I joined a group of dedicated and inspiring principals from across the motu to collaboratively explore solutions to some of the significant challenges currently facing the education sector. Our discussions centred around the ongoing teacher shortage, the pace of curriculum changes, and the uncertainty surrounding assessment practices. Kia Ora e te Whaanau, Last week, I had the opportunity to attend MOOT in Wellington alongside other association presidents. The discussions focused on some of the biggest challenges facing schools today: sustainable leadership, teacher supply, and the implementation of the refreshed curriculum. The Ministry of Education has recently released its National Curriculum Implementation, which sets out a five-year plan for schools. However, the rapid pace of implementation, combined with limited funding and support, is placing significant pressure on schools to adapt quickly.
