Advanced Diploma in Teaching: University of Auckland

Diploma of Teaching: University of Waikato

My name is Heather Simnor and I have been teaching since 1991. I started teaching at Glenbrook School part time in 2005 when we moved to the area, then fulltime since 2013.

I grew up in Naike, (North West Waikato – not too far from here). I went to a very small rural school, followed by Huntly College before heading to Waikato University.

I’m married to Keith. We have two children, Liam and Olivia. Both Liam and Olivia are heading to Waikato University in 2020.

I am passionate about education, and I am inspired by how students are enthused about learning. Being able to empower students to reach their potential is a privilege. I look forward to the learning journey I will share with the students of Haast in 2020.

Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education -University of Waikato

Kia Ora!
My name is Monique Shuker and I have just completed my first year teaching here at Glenbrook School. I’m well accustomed to the area having attended Otaua Primary School and Waiuku College. I grew up on a dairy farm in Otaua so I spent a lot of time outdoors as a kid. It has always been a dream of mine to work out in a country school where I can continue to work in an open and green environment. What I love about Glenbrook School is all the exciting opportunities that students get and the endless choices to try new things. I love playing hockey and spending time with my family and friends. I look forward to another exciting and busy year with Team Haast in 2020.
