Meet Miss Buchanan:                                             

Kia Ora,
I am currently in Team Kereru and the class teacher in Te Rakau Nui. I am a registered teacher at Glenbrook School in my fourth year of teaching. I studied at the University of Auckland and have a Bachelor of Education. Last year I am completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Practice (Digital and Collaborative Learning). I was born in Hamilton and raised in Papakura, spending most of my time in South Auckland and Franklin.  I am a very family orientated person and spend any spare time with my grandparents. I enjoy spending time at the beach with family and friends, reading, cooking and watching sport.
My passion has always been to work with children and be a part of their learning journey. I believe it is important for students to be well informed citizens and become this by having real-life, authentic learning experiences. It is important to have exciting learning experiences to make learning fun and engaging. I have high, achievable expectations of all my students and encourage them to take risks in order to reach their full potential. While all of this is happening it is key to have a laugh along the way and be able to not take ourselves too seriously.
