ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools)
Congratulations to Noah and Aimee who were awarded Credits for ICAS. Also congratulations to Emily, Annabel and Tegan who all achieved participations. Amazing job Te Rakau Nui students.
ALL BLACK MUFTI DAY
Today Te Rakau Nui wore all black (and white) to school. We performed Tika Tonu Haka which was filmed by Miss Shears for the chance to win an opportunity for the All Blacks to visit to our school.
FUN FOOTBALL
On Tuesday Te Rakau Nui had the opportunity to participate in a Fun Football session. We learnt football skills and played competitive soccer against each other. Te Rakau Nui had a blast – learning to defend, attack and power through opponents. We had an amazing experience learning the game.
FIRST AID – ST JOHN
On Monday Te Rakau Nui had first aid lessons from Saint John. We learnt how to correctly give CPR, how to save a person from intense blood loss and how to use the acronym DRS ABC when in an emergency situation. WAIUKU ROTARY SPEECH COMPETITION
Congratulations to Emily McGregor who represented Glenbrook School at the Waiuku Rotary Speech Competition. Emily did an amazing job presenting her speech “Bring back the old Milo”.
CROSS COUNTRY
On Wednesday Te Rakau Nui participated in the Glenbrook School Cross Country. We especially enjoyed having a genuine Cross Country course thanks to the Udy’s making their paddocks available. FRANKLIN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Te Rakau Nui’s very own Noah Bradley, first place winner for his Year 8 Investigation exhibit. There were so many outstanding entries at this years Franklin Science and Technology Exhibition and to come first place was an amazing achievement.
FRANKLIN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION
Congratulations to the students from Te Rakau Nui whose science exhibits got chosen to represent Glenbrook School at the Franklin Science and Technology exhibition. All students from Te Rakau Nui completed an exhibit to a high standard but unfortunately only a few could be chosen.
BUDDY CLASS FUN
Te Rakau Nui and Parekereke enjoyed spending time together today during Buddy Class. TRN students read with their younger buddies. We then had a game of statues where the older TRN buddies were beaten by Parekereke.
CAREERS EXPO
On the Thursday May 28th Te Rakau Nui visited the Careers Expo. We had so much fun learning about different career options. It really gave us something to think about when we start choosing our subjects for high-school.
