Class – Parekereke

Kia Ora! I am delighted to be teaching the Year 0 and 1 students in Parekereke this year. This will be my third year teaching at Glenbrook School. I love being at Glenbrook and enjoy the feeling of whakawhanaungatanga (working together as a community). Glenbrook is such a supportive and friendly environment.

I am originally from Scotland, having moved to New Zealand as a child. I grew up in Auckland’s North Shore. I love cake decorating and enjoy family time. I have an adventurous one year old daughter. My partner also has two daughters who are older, that visit often. We enjoy going to the swimming pools and trips to the park.

I have a background in Psychology, having completed my Bachelor of Arts in that area. I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching at Massey University. I have always been passionate about working with children. My path towards teaching began after taking a paper in Educational Psychology.

I believe that relationships lie at the heart of effective teaching. As a teacher I strive to build positive relationships and foster a love for learning.
