Week 4 Term 3 2015
Kia Orana, Talofa lava,
At Glenbrook School we are always doing our best to provide quality teaching and learning programmes for your children. This year we began our journey together with many new staff, new leadership but old values at our core. I’d like to pause at this checkpoint to reflect on how much we have already achieved together as a team and as a community.
Our staff, students and whanau are building a curriculum with values and principles that reflect who we are as a community. We continue to build on a learning environment where all leaners are welcomed and inclusion is part of who we are.
We are reconnecting and rebuilding partnerships within our community such as our Kindy, Marae, neighbouring schools and Waiuku College. We are gathering stories from past students before they are lost and capturing the history of our school.
We continue to invest in the cultures of our school and the diversity we have, celebrating what we each bring to our school. But most of all, we continue to work as a team, communicate effectively and honestly.
There are so many things we do well as a school and as a community because you as parents are part of that team. Our effective PTA who works endlessly to support us all, our Board of Trustees who govern our school with professionalism and care and most of all our beautiful tamariki, children, who are at the heart of our school. We know the potential they have, teachers, staff, parents and whanau. How lucky we are to be a part of that.
So thank you everyone, enjoy the sunshine even if it comes with a touch of cold.
Your Principal, Lysandra Stuart
