Bula, Talofa, Malo e lelei and Kia Ora,
I grew up in Papakura and now live in Karaka. My journey into teaching began at the University of Auckland, where I studied at the South Campus in Manukau, earning my Bachelor of Education in 2021. From a very young age, I dreamed of becoming a teacher, inspired by the idea of helping young minds discover their potential and fostering their love of learning.
Beyond the classroom, I have a passion for sports photography. You’ll often find me on the sidelines of a game, camera in hand, capturing those dynamic and memorable moments that highlight the spirit of competition.
I have a love for visual art and find joy in witnessing the creative talents of our tamariki come to life. Whether through painting, drawing, or crafting, it’s always amazing to see how students express themselves and explore their unique ideas through art. I believe that creativity is a powerful tool for learning, fostering artistic skills, confidence, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities.
Building trust and understanding is at the heart of my teaching philosophy, and I am committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. As we embark on another busy and exciting year, I am thrilled to lead Team Kereru once again. Together, we will tackle new challenges, celebrate successes, and embrace opportunities for learning and growth.
