Te Ao Maori

All students will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge in Maori language.  Teachers integrate Maori language and culture across the curriculum. The school has Kapa Haka on Wednesdays. All students are expected to participate in whole school Kapa Haka when Ms Stuart leads it. Our mana whenua are Ngaati Te Ata and we follow their tikanga and kawa. At Glenbrook School the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are upheld. In Term 1 we are preparing for the Franklin Multicultural Festival and in Term 2 we prepare for Matariki concerts. In 2026 our te reo teacher is Whaea Ruth.
