Sports

Glenbrook School encourages all students to participate in sports teams (as well as our school PE programme). The emphasis is on participation, teamwork, mana and the development of techniques.  At times, a competition component will also be a factor.

Where there are a large number of students trialing for a team, camp or sport we will then take into account behaviour, attendance and home learning. A minimum of 80% attendance and consistent completion of home learning is required.

Students and their parents will be expected to display sportsmanship and our school values while competing and on the sideline. Some sports will be catered for via local sports clubs.

At Glenbrook School we offer a rich variety of sporting opportunities for students. This is only possible with the support and assistance of parents and whaanau. Without your assistance these opportunities will not be available. At times if we do not have enough support for transport, coaching or managing we will need to cancel. This includes if parents cancel on the day. We cannot pull teachers from classrooms and double up classes so one team can attend a competition.
