Kai Time

Glenbrook School has two Kai Time breaks. These are 10.30-11.00 and 12.30-1.15. Kai time is after Taakaro Time. During kai times we encourage healthy lunches and morning tea. Teachers monitor kai to ensure students are eating. No sweets or lollies are allowed at Glenbrook school.

Snacks: Brainfood time is a chance for the children to have a small snack and refuel their brains for learning. Please make sure that your child has some brain food packed into their lunchbox every day. This will go into a shared tray so students can eat their snack at their table while working. It is a good idea to cut up fruit, such as an apple or pear, so that they are quick and easy to eat. Students can also have nut or muesli bars, an Up and Go drink, fruit pouches, or a couple of biscuits or baking.

Water Bottles: We encourage children to bring a named water bottle to school every day. Please make sure that their drink bottles are filled with water only. There is a water fountain outside the classroom if children do not bring a bottle. Juice, powerade type drinks, cordial, flavoured milk or fizzy drinks are not to be brought to school.  This is a water only school.
