Illness at school

Students who become ill during school time are cared for in the sick bay, which is located beside the school office in our admin block. Parents or caregivers will be advised by phone and will need to collect their ill child from the sick bay.

Most of our staff are First Aid certified and are able to administer First Aid and attend to minor injuries. Parents or caregivers are asked to please keep their contact details up to date with the office.

Medication, such as paracetamol, will not be administered to students unless the school has contacted the parent or caregiver for permission or has written permission.  Students with medication at school must hand it to the office. This includes inhalers.

Health Plans are developed with the whaanau by Ms Stowers for those that need it. Please ensure that any medical changes are shared with the school immediately. This includes diagnosis, medication and reviews.

Please see guidelines on common diseases for length of time away from school.
