Digital Technologies and BYOD

Digital technologies are an essential part of learning at Glenbrook School. All students use digital tools to support and enhance their education, and are expected to follow the Digital Citizenship Agreement, which reinforces safe, responsible, and respectful digital behaviours across our kura. Students in Years 3–8 are required to bring a device to school, with a Chromebook being the preferred option. There is a hire option available. To ensure devices are suitable for classroom use, we encourage a minimum of 8 hours of battery life, 4GB RAM, and an 11-inch screen, along with a durable outer shell that can withstand daily use.

To support safe and effective learning, students also require a sturdy protective case or bag, a wireless mouse, and headphones, with all items clearly named. Personal devices cannot be used at school until both the Digital Citizenship and BYOD Agreements have been signed and returned. These expectations help ensure digital learning is positive, purposeful, and aligned with our school values.
