SNOW CAMP BIRTHDAY

Te Rakau Nui would like to wish Annabel a huge Snow Camp, Happy Birthday.  Today Annabel turns thirteen and we are all lucky enough to share her special day.  We hope you have had an amazing birthday.

SNOWCAMP – DAY 1

Today is our first day of Snow Camp and we have had an amazing time.  Our first stop was the Waitomo Caves where we explored the Discovery Centre.  By torchlight we examined cave insects, skeletons, stalactites, stalagmites and crawled through a pretend cave.  We then explored the Waitomo Caves by foot and by boat.  The caves and glowworms were amazing.  Mi Camp was our next stop and we spent our time getting settled into our rooms and exploring.  After dinner we made damper and roasted marshmallows.  What an exhausting but fun day.  Cannot wait until tomorrow!

SNOW CAMP #1

Bus is loaded and we are off. Snow Camp here we come. Next stop Waitomo Caves.

SUNNY DAYS

On Friday Te Rakau Nui celebrated the sun with some fun fitness games with Mrs Thornton.  What a great way to finish off our week!  Fingers crossed that the sun shows itself for Snow Camp next week too.

FEAR FACTOR

Thank you to Tegan, Dylan, Annabel and Noah who represented Te Rakau Nui at the Bluelight Fear Factor.  Our team had to complete a range of challenges such as pushing a police car and eating dry Weetbix.  In the picture above they had to get a number of balls from one end of the pool to the other using strategy and teamwork.

BUDDY SPORTS

After a wet playtime and lunchtime our buddy reading turned into buddy sports!  So much fun to watch our younger buddies learning new skills.

ROBOTICS

Glenbrook School’s Robotics Team who include Te Rakau Nui’s own Hunter, Maisson and Kaegen have created a robot by the name of ‘Titan’.  This week they worked with Robotics Teams from other schools to put their robot through a series of challenges such as using a ramp to get a ball over a fence.  Great team work guys!!

CCC INTERVIEWS

Te Rakau Nui would like to thank all parents and caregivers who were able to come in and discuss our CCC Goals. If you were unable to attend or would like to discuss anything further please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Brown and make a time to see her.

MATHEX

Congratulations to Te Rakau Nui and other Glenbrook students who participated in Mathex last night.  What an exciting evening! Year 7A was in a tie breaker for third with a score of 70/100 out of 25 teams, unfortunately missing out. Year 8A with a score of 60/100 came 12th out of 32 teams. We are proud of you all.

THANK YOU ALINTA

Te Rakau Nui would like to thank Alinta and Mr. George Palmer for their new classroom umbrellas.  Now…..bring on the rain!!
