FRANKLIN CHOIR FESTIVAL
Congratulations to Carmen, Kaegen and Kayla who participated with the Glenbrook School Choir at the Franklin Choir Festival. Approximately 250 students participated from schools which spanned from Pukekohe to Waiuku. Our students sung to a sell out crowd on both Tuesday and Wednesday night. An amazing experience for all involved!
COUNTIES MANUKAU STEELERS
Today our 7s rugby players had the once in a lifetime opportunity to hone their rugby skills with the Counties Manukau Steelers. Te Rakau Nui would like to extend our thanks to those Steelers players who took the time to share their knowledge with us.
BOYS HAKA WORKSHOP
Well done to the Te Rakau Nui boys who attended the Haka Workshop with Kowhai today. The tuakana-teina relationship which you are developing with our middle and junior school members will only grow stronger when they spend time with you, developing your knowledge and skills together.
DRAGONS DEN
As part of our financial capabilities unit Te Rakau Nui have been developing products which they can market at Calf Club. Students have researched products and estimated costs for manufacturing. Today we had a chance to test our products and see whether they met our expectations. We cannot wait to share with you our various products.
WAIUKU SCIENCE FAIR
Well done to all Te Rakau Nui students who entered their science boards into the Waiuku Science Fair. Great work Maisson Murray, Aimee Te Kanawa and Ashleigh Nicholson who all achieved Highly Commended for their Science Boards. Also a huge congratulations to Ava-Mae Steven who achieved 2nd in the Consumer Science category, Tom Sutcliffe who achieved 2nd in the General Science Category and Noah Bradley who achieved 1st in the General Science Category. SCHOOLS’ MX CHAMPIONSHIP
Congratulations to Nick Adams who participated in the Schools’ MX Championship, organised by Pukekohe’s Motorcycle Club. It was fabulous to open “The Post” this morning and see Nick in action.
HOCKEY SKILLS
Counties Manukau Hockey are coming into our school to run their Small Sticks, (Kiwi Sport) program over the next three weeks. We had our first session on Monday and enjoyed learning how to use our hockey sticks correctly and playing a mini game of hockey.
WAIUKU SCIENCE FAIR
Waiuku Science fair begins today. Judging will be at 9.30am this morning with winners notified later this afternoon. Good luck to all Te Rakau Nui students who have entered.
