We hope this newsletter finds you well as we move through the heart of Term 2. There are a number of exciting events and important reminders coming up. Please read on for the latest updates.
Akonui Hui: Mid-Year Learning Conferences
Our Akonui Hui (Parent–Teacher–Student Learning Conferences) will be held on Monday 26th May and Tuesday 27th May. These hui are a vital part of our school’s approach to building strong, learning-focused partnerships with whaanau.
They provide an opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress and reflect on their learning journey. Akonui Hui form part of our twice-yearly reporting.
Please note:
- No classes will be held on these days.
- Supervision is available—please book this through the office if required.

Health Notice – Strep Throat Alert
We have had several cases of strep throat reported in the community. If your child has a sore throat, please have them seen by your family doctor. Early treatment helps prevent complications and supports a healthy school environment.
Pizza Day – Tomorrow!
A reminder that tomorrow is Pizza Day! You can order your child’s school lunch through:

Pool Keys – Now Overdue
If you still have a pool key, please return it to the school office as soon as possible. Thank you for your support in keeping this process smooth.
Collect Apple Stickers 
We’re still collecting Yummy Apple Stickers to help earn free sports gear for our school. Please keep collecting and send your completed sticker sheets to the office.
Chicken Orders – Closes THIS Friday! 
Chicken orders close Friday 23rd May.
- Order forms are available at the office or via email: calfclub@glenbrook.school.nz
- Cost: $6 per chicken
- Minimum order: 2 chickens
Be sure to get your orders in before the deadline!
Well done to all our aakonga who represented Glenbrook School at football this week. We cannot wait to hear about your results. All our students in years 4-8 are currently preparing for speeches. Good to all our brave aakonga who are competing in the competitive section. All our classes are also preparing for our Matariki concert on Thursday 19th June. A big thank you to all the whaanau who are helping our classes. What a treat it will be!
