Week 2 Term 2 2015

Glenbrook rem garden-2What an amazing bunch of students and staff we have. We had ten students in Glenbrook uniform march in the Pukekohe dawn service for ANZAC. We had 64 students in school uniform at the Waiuku town service. This was the largest school turn out of students and staff. Plus we had many other students representing Scouts, Marriners, Girl Guides and other organisations. Thank you parents and whanau for supporting what we feel was an important occasion and mark of repspect. It is a tribute to the values and history we have as Glenbrook School.

Thank you to all the parents that attended the PTA meeting last week. It was a wonderful meeting with a lot of informative korero. A special thank you to Vance Hodgson for his attendance as BOT representative. Vance volunteers extremely long hours and expertise in property for Glenbrook School. I am very grateful to him and his family for his advice, experience and time.

The school hall is now being rebuilt. This is an out of bounds area at all times. Please adhere to health and safety notices. Students will meet under the multi-purpose shed if wet at the end of the school day. If it is fine when we will meet on the field. This is to ensure we can see all our students at the end of the school day safely.

This week our teachers start our review of the Glenbrook School curriculum. These are two very long meetings after school on Wednesday and Thursday. I will be releasing classes at the end of the day, along with relief teacher, so our teachers can get started. This is being led by educational consultants from Te Toi Tupu.

Good luck to all our students who are playing sports this weekend. Remember to take photos and write a brief recount or summary. If your recount is published in the school newsletter you will earn 20 whanau points for your whanau.IMAG1123
